Howard “Bucky” Buchanan - President / Chief Instructor With over 25 years of Emergency Services background, Bucky is RVESCUE’s Lead Instructor and founding member. Currently serving as a Senior Program Coordinator with the National Transit Institute, he brings his experiences from Emergency Management & Transit Agencies across the Country to other agencies in major cities to rural areas. His specialty is in Staging & Accountability of EMS Resources during a Large Scale Incident. Bucky is a volunteer EMT & Rescue Technician with multiple agencies in the Central NJ Area and previously served the American Red Cross’ National Disaster Response Team as a Health Services Specialist, and is a past-Board Chairman of one of their Chapters.

Tom Lloyd - VP - Educational Services / Instructor Tom is a NJ Certified EMT, along with a National Safety Council instructor in Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator courses. Having over 20 years of volunteer EMS and Rescue background, Tom currently serves as the Rescue LT with the Branchburg Rescue Squad in Somerset County NJ. Bringing a legal background to the team, Tom brings a strong compliance flavor to our team, and currently holds the position of Vice President of Educational Services.

Matt Strohl - Director, Raritan Valley Emergency Services / Rescue Instructor Matt is a NJ & VA certified Firefighter/EMT, currently working as a career employee for a major fire department in Virginia. He is the Managing Director of Raritan Valley Emergency Services, which provides management & resource management for Fire, EMS or Security at Large Scale pre-planned events. Matt also serves as head of our Chesapeake Bay Region operation.

Billy Apsley - Instructor Aide Billy is an EMT/FF with the Branchburg Rescue Squad & Readington Volunteer Fire Company, where he currently holds the position of Safety Officer. He assist with our CEVO programs and as an Instructor Aide.

Gary Breuer - Chief Rescue Instructor Throughout Gary’s law enforcement career he has been assigned to the Emergency Services Unit. Gary is also a FF/EMT and Level II Fire Instructor, who serves as a Rescue Specialist with the NJ Urban Search and Rescue Team, NJ Task Force One (NJ-TF1). Gary is a life member, Chief Rescue Officer and Past Chief of the Flemington-Raritan First Aid & Rescue Squad. He leads our rescue programs utilizing his unique rescue back round in many phases of emergency response including firefighting, emergency medical services, hazardous materials and technical rescue.

Jeremy Colby - Instructor Jeremy is a NJ EMT and PA FF1 working for an EMS department in Ocean County. He was previously the Operations Supervisor for a department in Hunterdon County NJ, as well as a telecommunicator for both the Hunterdon County Communications Center, and Overlook’s CENCOM.

Brayden Fahey - Administrative Assistant NJ EMT/FF serving both in volunteer and career positions around Central NJ, Brayden is a certified facilitator of the EMS Response to Large Scale Incidents program, serves as the Deputy EMS Coordinator for the Hunterdon County NJ Office of Emergency Management, and is a member of the Hunterdon County Technical Rescue Task Force.

Jerry Haney - Rescue Instructor/Consultant Jerry heads up our Rescue Consulting Firm. As a certified Firefighter in both NJ and WV, as well as former EMT in the State of NJ, Jerry brings several years of experience in multiple different disciplines. Jerry currently serves as head of our National Capital Region operation.

Matt Hoffman - Instructor A NJ Certified FF/EMT, Mattie is a First Aid & CPR instructor for RVESCUE. He currently serves as a volunteer and officer on both a Fire & EMS/Rescue department in Central NJ, and has been volunteering for 6 years.

James “Duck” Kauczka - Instructor Duck joined us in June 2007 and is a NJ Certified EMT where he volunteers his time with a local Rescue Squad and an AHA CPR Instructor. He splits his time between New Jersey and Florida where he resides.

Devin Kerins - Consultant/Senior EMS Instructor Devin is a certified Paramedic in NJ. He formally worked as a Emergency Preparedness Planner for a Healthcare System in Western NJ, and the developer of several of our Incident Management courses. A published author of two wildly successful books, EMS: The Job Of Your Life, and EMS2: The Life Of Your Job, Devin specializes in Incident Management programs for the EMS providers.

Brian McNally - Marketing Assistant Joining our team as of January 2008, Brian is our Central NJ Development Officer, working on our Corporate Safety & Education programs. He is a New Jersey certified EMT & Fire Fighter, and works as both a volunteer & career member at multiple agencies in the Central NJ area. We welcome Brian to our team as our newest member.

Bob Rainey - Instructor Bob is a CPR & First Aid instructor with RVESCUE, joining the team in February 2008. He is an EMT with the Whitehouse Rescue Squad, where he is the Captain of their Rescue Services Unit, and also a per diem EMT with a Hunterdon County EMS agency.

Chris Szymanski - Instructor Also a certified NJ EMT, Fire Fighter and Police Officer, Chris leads our CERT Training Programs. He holds the current position of County Deputy Rescue Coordinator with the Hunterdon County Office of Emergency Management, Division of Public Safety.

Frank Veneziale - Chief Logistics Officer Frank is a FF/EMT handling logistics for our courses and is the lead instructor for our “Pandemic Preparedness” programs. Frank coordinates training programs and works on emergency management programs at Rutgers, the State University of NJ. Prior to joining Rutgers he was a Deputy County Emergency Management Coordinator responsible for the County Training Center, that served Fire, EMS & Rescue agencies. Frank is Past-Chief and Past-President of a combination Volunteer-Career EMS/Rescue department in Hunterdon County. Frank currently serves on the Raritan Township Emergency Management committee.
