Ambulance Strike Team Leader
Target Audience
EMTs, Senior EMTs, Crew Chiefs, new and experienced Supervisors or Department Officers and County EMS Bureau
staff.
Program Overview
Do you know when the next disaster will hit your community? How about the community 3 counties away? Disasters are happening with greater frequency then in the past, or at least our pre-planning is. This draws on our communities like never before. Whether a natural disaster or another terroristic event, people will need medical care and possible evacuation. Facing the need to move victims from hospitals, nursing homes, acute-care facilities, as well as the general public, Emergency Medical Services will be needed in the form of Ambulance Strice Teams.
This instructor led course will train students to the roles and responsibilities of the Ambulance Strike Team Leader
in a large scale incident. This course will cover the supervisory responsibilities during mobilization, deployment and demobilization. It will also cover accountability of personnel and equipment, risk assessment, management and documentation of their missions. Lastly sample Incident Action Plans involving a jurisdiction confronted with large numbers of patients requiring ambulance transportation, will be reviewed and samples prepared.
Pre-Requisites
ICS-100, 200, 700, Hazmat & CBRNE Operations, or equivalents, and EMS Response to the Large Scale Incident: Awareness Level
